The life of a disciple of Jesus is a marathon, not a sprint. It requires the same discipline, commitment, purpose and grit that an Olympian would train with in preparation for the games. Paul reminds the church in Corinth, and us, of this truth.
Chris is a disciple who runs track at his university. He also plays football. Doctors told him he tore his MCL at practice on Tuesday afternoon in what looked like a career-ending injury. Wednesday night the whole campus ministry prayed for healing in Chris' knee and that God would reveal HIs will to Chris through this situation. At the same time about 20 miles east of the prayer Chris was getting a second opinion from a specialist. After a thorough examination, this doctor said his MCL was only sprained and that it looked like he would run again. God is good.

As a young man, Leve spent a lot of time running from things. When he got away, he started running towards other things. Leve runs on the track team at his university now. More importantly, he's been spending this last year running towards God...and he's found what was waiting for him. He made the decision to make Jesus Lord of his life and was baptized August 21 in the waters of the Pacific.
What are you running from?
What are you running towards?
Our prayer is that we can make it to the finish line of this amazing spiritual race we're running. We may cross bloodied, bruised and beat-up, but we'll finish. We hope you'll join us as we run.
